Bar & Bat Mitzvah

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I order my invitations?

  • 4-6 months prior to the Bar or Bat Mitzvah day is the perfect timeframe for scheduling your consultation. That way you will have them in the mail 8-10 weeks prior to your child's celebration.

  • Rush orders are available for an additional fee. Please mention this during your consultation. Rush services are required if we are beginning the process 3 months or later from your event.

How much do invitations cost?

  • Stone Hill Paperie is a studio specializing in custom work. I put together custom pricing for each project. If you have a budget you are working within, please share that with me prior to our consultation. I value your time and do not want to show you invitations that will not work with your pricing needs.

  • Pricing varies greatly on invitations based on the number of invitations you need, paper selection, print method and whether or not there are embellishments (i.e. pocketfolder, glitter, die cuts, ribbon, etc.). Stone Hill Paperie has created invitations from $900 - $6,000 in the past year. Most often though, the average people spend is typically from $1,200 - $1,800; some lower and some higher.

What types of printing methods do you use?

  • Over the years, I have worked with several different printers and have found my handful of favorites that allow Stone Hill Paperie the flexibility to provide a wide variety of print methods including: digital, offset (flat) printing, thermography (raised) printing, engraving, letterpress, foil press, debossing and embossing.

What types of payment do you accept?

  • I try to make this easy. You may pay by  check, cash, Venmo, Paypal or credit card through Square. All transactions are completely secure. Please make checks payable to Stone Hill Paperie and sent to the address on your invoice.

Do you offer Mitzvah Branding?

  • Yes! I love to create a complete, cohesive brand for your celebration.

  • A few of the options are:

    • Logo

    • Favors

    • Table Cards

    • Table Numbers

    • Programs, Signs

    • Seating Charts

    • Hotel Guest Notes/Gift bags

    • Cocktail Napkins

    • Anything else you can come up with (I love a challenge)!

Do you offer envelope printing?

  • Yes, of course! The return address printing on your envelopes is included in your invitation estimate. If you choose, addresses can be printed on each envelope in a matching font and color from the invitation along with a coordinating design from the invitation for an additional fee.

  • I also work with several local calligraphers. I am happy to connect you with the tried & true people people I have found that will provide calligraphy in the style of the invitation you choose; from classic pen and ink calligraphy to marker or brush hand-lettering.

  • Whether you choose printed or hand-written guest addresses, an excel spreadsheet with your guest information will be needed. Please take your time and enter the information carefully as the names and addresses are printed exactly as they appear on that list.

Can you mail my invitations for me?

  • The easier I can make this for you, the better! I offer a stuff, seal, stamp and send service for an additional fee plus cost of postage. Invitations will be delivered to my local post office and hand canceled.

What is your return policy?

  • Since everything I create is custom made for you, all sales are final. Please check your final digital proof very carefully before approving it, as Stone Hill Paperie is not responsible for any mistakes made by you and refunds are not given.

  • If a reprint needs to happen should errors occur, an additional fee will be charged at a lesser amount (after receiving approval of your final proof via email).

Have you worked with people long distance?

  • Absolutely yes! I like to Facetime for these consultations so that when we are discussing details I can show you samples.

  • Following a Facetime appointment, I like to send samples of paper or invitations (that are similar to your vision) so that you will have confidence in the quality of my work. Email amy@stonehillpaperie.com for more information or schedule a consultation.
