Real Wedding: Lauren & Ryan
I love seeing the pictures and checking in with clients after their weddings. Lauren and Ryan are so easy-going. They made their invitation decision so quickly and the style they chose was so clean and elegant. I just knew they would have a beautiful wedding! Enjoy getting to know Ryan & Lauren...
How did you meet?
Ryan and I have been friends since elementary school and even dated for a short time in middle school. We officially dated in high school and went to Penn State together as well!
Tell me a little about the proposal…
Ryan and I have grown up going to the beaches of Ocean City, NJ. We were down for presidents weekend and he wanted to go on a walk in the morning. He asked me on our walk! I definitely had no idea (if you saw what I was wearing you would agree- oversized sweatshirt, messy bun, etc!)
What surprised you most about planning your wedding?
What surprised me so much was how easy it was. Everyone told me it was difficult but I never really experienced much stress throughout the whole process. It was fun!
What (or who) did you find was your best resource for planning your wedding?
My best resources were my mother, sister, father, my husband and mother in law. They helped me so much and without them the wedding wouldn’t have been half as nice!!!
What was your inspiration for your wedding day details?
When Ryan and I got engaged our overall theme was for everyone to have a good time. We wanted it to be a happy and fun experience for us and for all of those who came to celebrate with us. Decoration wise, I wanted to keep it light and stick with whites, light pinks, and gold tones. It all came together nicely.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
As cliche as it sounds, my favorite part of my wedding was marrying Ryan at my hometown church.
Best part of the wedding planning?
I think shopping for venues was the best part of wedding planning. My mom, sister, and I spent an entire day driving to about 10 venues. I love architecture and buildings and there are so many nice and beautiful places outside Philadelphia to get married.
What advice will you give your friends getting married?
Have fun! Plan the things that are most important to you first!
