2021 - Oh What a Year!

This year started out with so much uncertainty for weddings. By early January, couples were filled with so much hope as vaccines started becoming available. Once that news hit, weddings were on!

After white-knuckling it through 2020 and just getting by, 2021 soon became the busiest year I have experienced in my business. This year I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most amazing couples. The focus for the majority of my wedding clients this year was CELEBRATING TOGETHER. I have loved working with my clients this year more than ever before. Initially I was just so grateful to be working again, but I soon realized that these couples were more intentional about their wedding plans than I had noticed in the past. Their thoughtfulness about their designs, and gatherings in general, were so inspiring.

The wedding invitation suites this year included so many special details. Wax seals were super popular this year, as well as luxe ribbons, and custom envelope liners. Custom watercolors and illustrations were some of my favorite pieces to work on. And vintage accents such as curated vintage postage stamps and vintage prints added a touch of elegance to so many of the suites. Letterpress, embossing, and debossing are my favorite print methods and they never go out of style!

In addition to the invitation suites, I was lucky enough to work with some of my clients from the start of their wedding plans. I love to work backwards with a general idea of what the invitation design will be and tie in some of those elements into the save the dates. It is always so cool to see the evolution from the save the date design through to the wedding day details.

I had the pleasure of working with some other wedding professionals on some styled shoots this year. This is when a team of wedding professionals collaborate on an idea for a wedding. It gives us all an opportunity to get creative. The pieces below were some examples of pieces created for styled shoots I worked on this year.

Wedding day details were amazing this year! From seating charts and welcome signs to wedding programs and even koozies for the after party; couples were so thoughtful about every detail for their weddings. Some of the highlights were escort cards in a vintage card catalog, vintage champagne flute favors that served as place cards and the menus that the bride painstakingly added wax seals to each and every one herself!

I am beyond grateful to all of these couples and their families. Many of the weddings this year were postponed from 2020. I can officially say that all of my weddings that were postponed in 2020 have now happened! There are many happy newlyweds out there. They waited a long time for their weddings and they (and their guests) partied accordingly!

Cheers to you all for hanging with me this past year! And to good health and great celebrations in the year ahead!

xo, Amy
