Amy Hammond
A Gorgeous Townley House Styled Shoot
When Shellie Reid Warner, the mastermind behind rel(EVENT) Planning, contacted me to participate in a styled shoot that she had a real vision for, I jumped on it. I was honored to be part of this team of fun and extremely talented professionals! Many of the participants in this shoot are part of Rising Tide (a professional organization for creatives) that I am involved in. Our local chapter is incredible! I might be a little biased as I am serving as co-coordinator of education for the group.
In the wedding industry a styled shoot is basically a faux wedding. Event professionals get together and design a day made for creativity. Our photographers on this shoot were husband & wife team, Kristen and Christian, of Dearly Beloved Photography and they used the day for some enhanced learning with their team. The results were amazing!

Participating in styled shoots can be a real treat for me because I get to create things that I want to work on or test; a print method, a shape, different papers, etc. For this event, I created a square letterpress invitation suite that was modern with a nod to tradition; inspired by the venue that hosted us for the day. Townley House is a beautifully designed boutique hotel in Easton, Pennsylvania. It was the perfect aesthetic for this shoot.

I love to reach out to amazing calligraphers when working on styled shoots. When designing this suite, I knew Caitlin Jane was the perfect fit. I was looking for lettering that tied in with the invitation design. I wanted it to be a little loose and a slightly less traditional. Caitlin nailed it!

Our models for the day, Laura and Khristian, were so great. What a sweet couple and such great sports walking around Easton in the very cold weather that day!

The flowers by Laura Clare Design were to die for. So much color, texture and layers beyond layers of flowers throughout the day. Did I mention color?

The Townley House is part of a hospitality group, Enjoy with Gusto, that includes some really wonderful restaurants. They provided us with an incredible lunch that day. I am still dreaming of the Lobster Orzo dish they served us from their restaurant Ocean in Easton.

Our Celebrant for the day was Donna Forsythe. She is a Humanist Celebrant officiating in the Lehigh Valley, as well as Philadelphia, the Poconos, and surrounding counties. She always brings such warmth to her work and is an amazing woman.
