A SEASON FOR CONNECTION and REFLECTION
This month’s newsletter is arriving a little later than usual — with good reason. I’ve been transitioning my newsletter to a new platform and taking some time for creative renewal.
In early October, I will be spending a co-working day in New York City surrounded by talented wedding vendor friends — the kind of day that reminds me how energizing it is to collaborate and dream together. Soon after, I will gather with my Roots group — the women who have been my “board of directors” through nearly a decade together. These retreats are a pause in the midst of the busy season, giving me space to reflect on where I’ve been and where I want Stone Hill Paperie to go next. I always come home feeling refreshed and inspired.
In the studio, things have been wonderfully full. I just wrapped a book cover illustration (which I hope to share soon!), a few custom illustration commissions, and some last-minute wedding day details. I’m also preparing for a November wedding and several 2026 weddings that are already underway.
And yes… as much as it pains me to admit it — it’s time to start thinking about the holidays. I’ll be opening my new shop soon with holiday cards and illustration gift commissions available.

Designing cohesive wedding stationery is one of the things couples ask about most — and for good reason. A connected design not only elevates your celebration but creates a seamless experience for your guests.
Pro Tip…
Think in Collections, Not Pieces
When planning your stationery, consider how each piece will connect visually and tonally — from your save the date to your menu. It’s easier (and more cost-effective) to plan a cohesive suite from the start than to match new pieces later.
SCHEDULE
October Checklist
Custom Invitations: Start the process now if you are getting married in March or April.
Semi-Custom Invitations: Order now if you are getting married in January or February.
Order Day-of Stationery: For November or December weddings, it is important to order programs, menus, place cards, and any other details now.
Pro Tip…
Consider the Guest Journey
Think about what your guests will touch, read, and hold — from the first envelope they open to the menu at their seat. Each piece is part of their experience and should feel intentional.
current favorites
I can’t get enough of this Florida-based indie folk band lately. Their music is full of joy and energy — the kind that instantly lifts your mood and makes you want to dance around your studio. Think banjos, brass, and sunshine.
Listening
My husband and I had to watch this show when we heard it was written and produced by Philly local Brad Ingelsby, the creator of Mare of Easttown. It’s gritty, emotional, and full of that Southeastern PA mood — our son was in college in Delco for the past four years, so it’s definitely a vibe. (If you know, you know — “you murdered my durter.”)
Watching
Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver
I haven’t started yet, but I’ve been told I’ll be obsessed. My friend Sarah said it has the same kind of pull as American Dirt (and I read that one in a single weekend — which says a lot since I’m usually a slow reader!). I’m hoping to be totally swept up in this story.

Green Tomato Salad from The New York Times
My garden produced a ton of green tomatoes this year (hoping for more red next year!), and this recipe has been the perfect way to use them. I love Vietnamese food, and this salad has all those bright, fresh flavors — light, tangy, and a little unexpected for fall.
