A Stunning Lake House Inn Wedding

I am thrilled to share this heartwarming and absolutely beautiful wedding that I had the opportunity to work on this past year. It was a stunning lakeside celebration, that garnered a spotlight on Style Me Pretty. Alyssa and Fred’s wedding story unfolds at The Lake House Inn, a venue that played a pivotal role in shaping their wedding designs. Alyssa and Fred replayed the captivating details of why they chose this intimate lakeside haven and discussed their favorite elements that made their day truly unforgettable.

The LakeHouse Inn played a huge part in our designs. What made you choose the LakeHouse Inn and what was your absolute favorite element of the venue?

When looking at our venue we wanted an intimate backyard feel that included nature and garden vibes. Throughout the venue tour we saw so many elements of the venue that we knew would add to our day. We loved the bride's entrance at the top of the stairs, the ballroom with the high ceilings and floral accents, and the venue felt very intimate and secluded. All of these elements helped us decide on the venue but in our opinion the best part was the view of the lake. When we walked into The Lake House Inn and saw the breathtaking view of Lake Nockamixon we were speechless. The beauty of the lake made our venue decision easy.

What did you want your wedding to feel like? How did you want your guests to feel attending your wedding? We wanted our guests to feel like they were at an intimate garden wedding on the lake. We include small personal touches to different design elements to give the day a personal touch. From the start of the invitation design until the day of the wedding we wanted to paint the picture of a greenery lake wedding.

How did your stationery set the tone for your reception or wedding day?   When creating our stationary we wanted to highlight our favorite elements of The Lake House Inn and allow the guest to envision the day before arriving. Our two favorite parts of the venue were the lake view and the view of the Lake House Inn. Lake Nockamixon was the backdrop to our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The envelope was designed to set the scenery in an abstract way. Including the venue and greenery on the invitation was intended to express the intimate garden elements of our vision.

Take us back through your wedding day; give a brief overview of your wedding story… The morning of our wedding started with a lot of discussions about the 80% chance of storms all day and making a decision about whether the ceremony would be inside or outside. We started the day getting ready with our bridal parties in the bridal and groom's suites. While getting ready the skies were black, and the rain was coming down but we were both pretty calm and excited to be married. The skies miraculously opened up and the weather was going to be nice for the rest of the day. We started the day with all of the first looks and a lot of emotions. The first look was with my dad, bridesmaids, and most importantly my soon-to-be husband. We were both in shock that the day was finally here and we were going to be married. Once our guests arrived, it was time for our entrances. Fred was followed into the ceremony by his groomsmen, next bridesmaids walked down the aisle, then the two glass doors opened up on the second floor of The Lake House Inn and it was my turn. I was so happy to see all of the people we loved in one place and walking down the aisle to my now husband. The ceremony was filled with laughter and tears, and the marriage was sealed with a kiss. We were both ecstatic for the rest of the evening. We enjoyed family and friends during cocktail hour and Fred switched into a white tux jacket for the reception. Our reception was filled with wonderful speeches, wonderful food, and electric dancing. The night included the groom's father flipping his mother on the dance floor and the guests throwing the bride in the air. It was truly a fairytale wedding.

What was your first dance song? We started out dancing to Simply the Best by Noah Reid and switched halfway to speed it up and dance to Forever by Chris Brown.

What was your favorite moment to see or create? I loved to see all of our visions come together. There were many different vendors that helped make our vision come to life. I was so amazed by the vendors ability to create designs exactly like our visions.  It was absolutely incredible to see all of these design elements work so well together on our special day.

Did you have an after-party?   Yes, the Groom's Lounge of The Lake House Inn turned into the after party along with the outside patio and fire pit. We enjoyed pizza, hot dogs on the fire, and continued the party with singing and dancing.

What surprised you most about planning your wedding? I was so surprised with the talent and organization of all of our wedding vendors. I was surprised with the amount of choices and the vendors ability to personalize everything to our vision. All of the vendors were able to create such unique items and designs.

What advice would you give your friends getting married?

Tip #1- Get a wedding planner to help with organizing, finding great vendors, and making sure your day is stress-free.

Tip #2- Trust your vendors. There were a few decisions I was not sure of and my vendors pointed me in the right direction. Most of the vendors I have been working with have been doing this for years and they know what they are doing!

Alyssa and Fred valued their team of professionals. This was a great team to be a part of, coordinated by Daisy at Designs by Daisy. Everything came together so beautifully!
