Not Just Pretty Paper

How My Semi-Custom Collection Got a Thoughtful Makeover
(and Why It Might Be Exactly What You Need)

Once upon a time—by which I mean, not long ago at all—I realized something.
Couples were either jumping straight into fully custom wedding invitations, or clicking away entirely, unsure of what semi-custom even meant.
And I can’t blame them.

The term semi-custom might sound like a compromise. Like something halfway there. But it’s not. At least not the way I do it.

So this spring, I took a hard look at the semi-custom side of my business and asked myself:
What if the collection didn’t just look beautiful, but actually worked beautifully too?

This July, I’m quietly (but truly) excited to introduce the refreshed Stone Hill Paperie Semi-Custom Wedding Invitation Collection. Thoughtfully designed with the same artistic eye and attention to detail as my custom suites, this collection offers a curated starting point—perfect for couples who want elevated design with a bit more structure around timeline and budget. I’m calling it a soft launch, as there’s still more to come (like save-the-dates and day-of details), but the foundation is here and ready to make its debut.

Let me explain how it works—and why it might just be your stationery sweet spot.

The Story Behind the Revamp

I’ve always believed that paper should say something.
About you. About your wedding. About the incredibly special moment you’re inviting people into.

But I noticed that when couples found me and didn’t opt for fully custom, they often felt stuck. They weren’t quite sure what could be changed, what the process looked like, or how personal the final product could really be.

So I started over. Reimagined the collection I already had. Redesigned the process.

What resulted is something I feel really good about—and something that’s already helping thoughtful couples bring their vision to life without guesswork, overwhelm, or cookie-cutter results.

So, What Is a Semi-Custom Invitation Suite?

It’s a ready-to-personalize design, built from a curated collection of my original suites (you’ll recognize favorites like Jolie, Abigail, and the new Jane).

Each suite has been designed with flexibility in mind—so you can adjust colors, envelope options, wording, include a monogram or border, and even layer on custom embellishments like wax seals, silk ribbon, or custom illustrations.

You begin with the base suite, select your print method (digital, letterpress, or foil), choose your stock weight, and customize from there. Every suite is lovingly assembled and quality-checked here in my studio—this is not a “click and pray it arrives” situation.

The suite on the left is the Abigail 3 piece suite on eggshell white stock with the light blue envelopes, black ink, a custom monogram and the Dutch Florals Envelope liner.

The suite on the right is the Abigail 5 piece suite on eggshell white stock with gold foil print, the Monaco initials, chartreuse envelopes, and the deco pattern envelope liner.

Who Is It For?

  • Couples who want something elevated, without the timeline or budget of fully custom.

  • Planners seeking a refined option for clients who care about design but need a clear, efficient process.

  • People who appreciate good design and want an expert eye to help bring it to life.

If you're the type who doesn’t want to DIY your wedding paper, but also doesn’t need hand-stitched velvet folios with gold-plated hinges (yes, that’s a thing)—this is your sweet spot.

The image to the right shows the Sloane 4 Piece Suite on ivory stock, with blush envelopes and a chocolate brown envelope liner. This variation on the design shows the Sloane initials in the Watercolor Floral Crest.

Here’s the Best Part: You’re Not Alone in the Process

While this is a streamlined experience, it’s never hands-off.
I offer a complimentary brief consultation on zoom for anyone considering the semi-custom collection.

We’ll talk through your needs, budget, and aesthetic, and I’ll guide you toward the suite that fits best—or help you adapt one to make it feel just right. You’ll still receive personal guidance, thoughtful suggestions, and a professional design experience—just with a more streamlined process and fewer steps. And since we’re meeting on Zoom, I can walk you through each decision, show you exactly what to do, or take care of it for you.

A Note on Timing

Because this is a curated collection, the design timeline is shorter—but your invitations will still feel deeply intentional and incredibly special. Most couples book their semi-custom suite about 4–6 months before the wedding.

And yes, rush orders are sometimes possible—but let’s not do that to ourselves unless we have to.
