A SEASON FOR GRATITUDE and INTENTION
I always think things will slow down a little in November — but it never seems to go that way. At the beginning of the month, I start getting all of the holiday dates on the calendar, and there seems to be little time left for spontaneity once that happens. This year, I’m trying to leave a little open space for serendipity — even if it’s just an unscheduled afternoon with a cup of coffee and a sketchbook.
That said, there are so many moments I’m looking forward to: a jazz evening with my husband, a dinner in New York City with some of my favorite wedding industry friends, a birthday day of fun with one of my dearest friends, and of course, Thanksgiving. Before we know it, December will be here!
In the studio, it’s a season of refining designs for winter and spring weddings, wrapping up stationery projects before the holidays, and beginning to plan for the year ahead.
As the year winds down, I’m especially grateful for the planners, photographers, and couples who have entrusted me with telling their stories through paper. Every collaboration adds something meaningful to the work I love most.

Designing cohesive wedding stationery is one of the things couples ask about most — and for good reason. A connected design not only elevates your celebration but creates a seamless experience for your guests.
Pro Tip…
Design Your Save the Dates with Intention
Your Save the Date is more than a date announcement — it’s your guests’ first glimpse of what’s to come. Choose a design that reflects your wedding’s tone, season, and setting, and carry through meaningful details like color, texture, or illustration to create a cohesive story from start to finish.
SCHEDULE
November Checklist
Custom Invitations: Start the process now if you are getting married in April or May.
Semi-Custom Invitations: Order now if you are getting married in February or March.
Order Day-of Stationery: For December or January weddings, it is important to order programs, menus, place cards, and any other details now.
Pro Tip…
Leave Space for Connection
Just like in wedding design, the best gatherings balance beauty with ease. If you’re hosting this Thanksgiving, allow time to simply be with your guests — light a candle, slow the pace, and let the conversation unfold. Intention isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence.
my current favorites
The Life of a Showgirl by Taylor Swift — and while I’m not a Swiftie, I have to admit this album is captivating. It’s layered, theatrical, and beautifully produced — perfect background music for long design days. I cannot get enough - guilty pleasure? Absolutely!
Listening
My husband and I recently saw this movie, and it has completely taken up space in my mind. I can’t stop thinking about it and know I’ll need to watch it again to catch everything I missed the first time. It’s incredible — layered, moving, and sure to get some Oscar buzz. Highly recommend!
Watching
First Bloom by Katie Trauffer
A magical city, a secret identity, a café where everything changes.
After a lifetime of struggling to control her wild magic, Princess Aurelia of Serremont sets out to build a life of her own in Florevale, disguised as a university student. Between enchanted classes, new friendships, and candlelit evenings, she learns that courage and hope can grow in the most unexpected places. This is book one of the University of Florevale series — and I’m honored to have illustrated and designed its cover.

Orecchiette with Butternut Squash and Kale
My orecchiette-making obsession continues! It’s so meditative. This month’s favorite is Orecchiette with Roasted Butternut Squash and Kale — even better with a little prosciutto or pancetta mixed in.
