A SEASON FOR STILLNESS and CELEBRATION

December always arrives with its own kind of rhythm. The days feel fuller, the evenings feel brighter, and somehow the month manages to be both busy and deeply comforting at the same time. I’m trying to welcome the season with a little more intention this year; leaving room for quiet mornings, unhurried conversations, and the small joys that make this time of year feel meaningful.

There is so much I’m looking forward to over the next few weeks: a trip to Cincinnati, gatherings with friends, a few cherished traditions at home, time spent in the kitchen making old favorites, and those cozy winter evenings when I can sit with a sketchbook in front of the fireplace. Moments that feel simple but grounding.

In the studio, December is a blend of wrapping up projects before the holidays, finalizing designs for early-spring weddings, and easing into plans for the new year. There’s a gentle shift from the rush of fall to the steady, thoughtful work of preparing for what’s next.

As I close out the year, I’m especially grateful for every couple, planner, and photographer who invited me into their story this season. Creating meaningful, intentional pieces for your celebrations has been the greatest honor, and I’m excited to carry that inspiration into the year ahead.

Pro Tip…

Think of your invitations as the beginning of the experience. The tone you set on paper can seamlessly carry into your ceremony and reception, creating a cohesive story that feels intentional from start to finish.

 my favorite things

Cozy Christmas Jazz

A warm, easygoing holiday jazz playlist that sets the perfect December mood — calm enough for work, festive enough for evenings at home.

Listening

Merry Little ExMas

I have a soft spot for Christmas movies — especially the Hallmark ones, even if I pretend I don’t. There’s something about settling in with a cozy blanket and an easy, happy ending that just feels right this time of year. This season’s surprise favorite was Merry Little Ex-Mas on Netflix. It’s sweet, festive, and exactly the kind of light, feel good movie that makes a December evening feel complete. Joe approved.

Watching

Snow Kissed

Snow Kissed by RaeAnne Thayne is a light, sweet, and heartwarming read — the kind of gentle escape that feels perfect during the busy holiday season, when a little calm and coziness go a long way.

Five Minute Fudge Wreath

A favorite of mine many years ago is making a comeback in the Hammond house this year. Rachael Ray’s Five Minute Fudge Wreath a go to treat this time of year. It’s quick, festive, and made with simple pantry ingredients you can keep on hand for any last minute gathering. A sweet little holiday lifesaver when you need something delightful in no time at all.
