A Timeless Belle of Blue Bell Wedding
Rooted in Tradition and Romance
There is a certain kind of wedding that feels both time-honored and deeply personal, where every moment carries the weight of family history and the joy of a new chapter. Madi and David’s celebration was exactly that. Rooted in tradition and guided by the stories of the generations who came before them, their wedding brought together elegance, sentiment, and an unmistakable warmth. Designing their stationery was a chance to reflect the grace of their church ceremony, the classic beauty of their venues, and the heartfelt emphasis they placed on family. Their day unfolded with the same sincerity their invitations introduced: thoughtful, refined, and filled with meaning.
To give you a true sense of their day, I asked Madi to share a bit about their vision and the moments that meant the most. Her reflections say everything…
What feeling did you want your wedding to evoke for you, your guests, and each other?
I had always dreamed of my wedding feeling very traditional and elegant. David and I always knew we wanted a traditional Catholic church ceremony. David and I are both very close with our families so we also wanted the wedding to emphasize the importance of family and bringing two families together to create our new family. We had envisioned a timeless event with classic details like beautiful neutral colors, traditional toasts, dances, and long-established customs of a wedding. We hoped that the guests would remember our wedding for honoring tradition and family while appreciating classic elegant details.
Where did you find inspiration for your wedding style and details?
My inspiration for my wedding style and details came from photos of my grandparents and parents' wedding, particularly my grandmother's wedding dress. My grandmother's wedding dress was actually the wedding dress that my mom wore for her wedding as well. It was elegant and simple with lace detailing. The dress itself is timeless - I myself wore the dress for my bridal shower to honor the women that came before me. I drew inspiration on this wedding dress to help with my ideas for the wedding as this dress embodied tradition and timeless romance.
What made you choose to work with a custom stationery designer?
I loved the idea of working with a custom stationery designer who could understand our vision and help bring it to life. Amy understood our vision immediately. She helped design a mood board which captured the essence of the vision we were hoping to bring to life. I had dreamed of custom designs that represented the tradition and elegance David and I were looking for while also capturing the unique elements of who we are as a couple.
How did your invitations set the tone for your celebration?
To me, the wedding invitations represented the official start to our wedding celebration. It was the first impression for our guests of what is to come. Many design elements from the invitation itself carried through to the wedding day itself and were inspiration for many of the wedding day details.
Tell us about your wedding day—from the quiet moments to the celebration.
The wedding day started with getting ready and pre-ceremony preparation with our bridesmaids and groomsmen as well as our parents. David and I opted to not do a first look so we did not see each other before I walked down the aisle with my dad during our church ceremony. When I finally saw the love of my life after excited anticipation all morning, I felt so much joy. After our beautiful church ceremony, we enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while mingling with guests followed by dinner and dancing.
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
Our first dance song with My Best Friend by Tim McGraw. We chose it because we felt like it truly embodied our relationship. David is my best friend and I am so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with him.
Was there a moment during the day that felt especially meaningful or unforgettable?
Our ceremony was the most meaningful part of the day for both David and myself. We were so unbelievably happy to share our love with our friends and family and make our love and commitment official in front of everyone we hold near and dear. As previously mentioned, we value tradition and family so the ceremony encapsulated our core beliefs.
How did the evening end?
We had a wonderful reception and all the guests were dancing the night away. We even convinced our band, The Heartbeats, for an encore! We then continued the party at an after party at Normandy Farm Hotel bar which was where many of our guests were staying. No one wanted the celebration to end!
What surprised you most about planning your wedding?
What surprised me most was how much fun my mom and I would have planning together! She helped me through all the many decisions of wedding planning but we also enjoyed all the special moments together! It was the definition of mother-daughter bonding before a very special moment in both our lives.
What advice would you share with friends planning their weddings?
It is true what people say about your wedding day being the fastest day of your life. Remember to allow some time to take in what a beautiful moment in time this day is with the love of your life and all your loved ones.
I truly enjoyed working with Madi and her Mom - they are one of the sweetest mother-daughter teams I have had the pleasure to design for. What stayed with me long after their wedding wasn’t only the beauty of the details, but the way those details honored the legacy that shaped them. Madi and David planned a celebration that felt grounded and graceful, a day where tradition met genuine joy and every guest could feel the closeness of their families. It was a privilege to help bring their vision to life on paper and to create pieces that became part of a story much bigger than the day itself. I hope you enjoy reading about their celebration in their own words and seeing how the elements they chose came together in such a timeless and heartfelt way.
