A September Wedding at Fiddler’s Elbow
A Wedding Rooted in Elegance and Joy
When Caroline and Ross began planning their wedding, they wanted every detail to reflect the warmth of their love and the elegance of their celebration. From the very beginning, their vision was clear: classic design choices, refined touches, and meaningful moments woven throughout the day. It was such a joy to bring that vision to life through their stationery, where garland green, gold, and white cotton came together in a suite that exuded timeless sophistication.
Designing Their Elegant Green & Gold Invitations
Caroline and Ross envisioned wedding stationery that would set the tone for a celebration of timeless elegance. We began with a palette of garland green, gold, and crisp white cotton stock, a combination that instantly conveyed sophistication and luxury. Their suite featured letterpress printing, which gave the text a tactile, heirloom quality, paired with shimmering gold foil accents for just the right amount of refinement.
To complete the look, we added a custom wax seal embossed with their monogram — a detail that felt both personal and elevated. The invitation envelopes were lined with a subtle pattern that echoed the greenery of their venue, Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, tying the entire design back to the natural surroundings of their day. Every choice, from the double-thick cotton paper to the artisan printing methods, was made to ensure the suite felt like a keepsake.
Caroline and Ross’ stationery wasn’t simply an invitation; it was an introduction to the kind of celebration their guests could expect — an elegant, heartfelt wedding infused with sophistication and charm.
But of course, stationery is only one piece of a wedding day filled with memories. To share more about their experience — from the music that set the tone to the details that surprised them most — Caroline and Ross reflected on their favorite moments and advice for couples just beginning the journey.
What was your first dance song?
Our first dance was to Latch by Sam Smith (The Acoustic Version)
What was your favorite moment to see or create? Our favorite moment was our first dance and first introduction as husband and wife. The sound of applause and cheering from all the important people in our lives made us feel so grateful and happy.
How did you end the night? Did you have an after-party? Our last dance was to Last Dance by Donna Summers (a classic song). After our last dance, we ended the night by giving our guests Levain Cookies (Two Chip Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip) and a take home pizza (choice of cheese, pepperoni or sausage) and water bottle from the venue, Fiddler's Elbow.
What surprised you most about planning your wedding? How much time and planning goes into a wedding. There were a lot of small details that needed to be sorted out. There were even some details that we didn't even think about because it went over our heads. For example, getting name cards printed out and providing them to the venue as well as counting ourselves as part of the headcount. We forgot a lot of little pieces, but we are so thankful that we had experienced vendors who remembered it for us!
What advice would you give your friends getting married? The wedding day goes by so fast. Take time to enjoy your wedding day and soak it all in.
