June 2026

THE BEST KIND of BUSY

June is here, and it has arrived with its usual mix of momentum, celebration, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

In the studio, I am at the finish line for several June weddings, finalizing wedding day details for couples I have truly loved working with. This is always such a tender part of the process. After months of sketches, proofs, decisions, edits, printing, assembly, and all the little details that make a celebration feel personal, everything starts making its way into the hands of the people it was designed for. Programs, menus, place cards, signage, escort details, welcome pieces. The pieces that quietly help the day unfold.

At the same time, I am already deep in assembly for several fall weddings and beginning invitation designs for late fall and holiday celebrations. It always feels a little funny to be thinking about autumn colors and candlelit winter weddings while summer is just beginning, but that is part of the rhythm of wedding stationery. We are almost always living in more than one season at a time.

Outside the studio, June is full in the very best way. I have a morning of calligraphy in Central Park that I am so looking forward to, several graduation parties to celebrate, including one for my own son, a bridal shower, and a Noah Kahan concert with my daughter. It is a month of beautiful work, family milestones, music, celebrations, and plenty of paper.

Busy, yes. But the best kind of busy.

QR codes may not be the most romantic detail in a wedding invitation suite, but they can be incredibly helpful. The key is knowing where they belong, how to style them, and when to keep them quietly tucked away.

Pro Tip…

A QR code should make the guest experience easier, not make guests work harder.

They are especially helpful for online RSVPs, wedding websites, transportation details, or information that may change closer to the wedding. But the most important details should still be easy to find at a glance.

    SCHEDULE

June Checklist

  • Custom Invitations: Start the process now if you are getting married in December or January.

  • Semi-Custom Invitations: Order now if you are getting married in September or October.

  • Order Day-of Stationery: For July or August weddings, it is important to order programs, menus, place cards, and any other details now.

a hand holding a silver tray with 5 red cocktails with lime garnishes. Custom yellow cocktail napkins with actual text messages between a bride and groom while they were dating.

Pro Tip…

If you are using online RSVPs, you can still have a beautiful response card.

A QR code can be placed on the front with refined wording, tucked discreetly on the back, or paired with your wedding website so guests have more than one way to reply. Convenience and elegance can absolutely exist together.

The Life of a Showgirl

The Life of a Showgirl by Taylor Swift — and while I’m not a Swiftie, I have to admit this album is captivating. It’s layered, theatrical, and beautifully produced — perfect background music for long design days. I cannot get enough - guilty pleasure? Absolutely!

One Battle After Another

My husband and I recently saw this movie, and it has completely taken up space in my mind. I can’t stop thinking about it and know I’ll need to watch it again to catch everything I missed the first time. It’s incredible — layered, moving, and sure to get some Oscar buzz. Highly recommend!

First Bloom by Katie Trauffer

A magical city, a secret identity, a café where everything changes.
After a lifetime of struggling to control her wild magic, Princess Aurelia of Serremont sets out to build a life of her own in Florevale, disguised as a university student. Between enchanted classes, new friendships, and candlelit evenings, she learns that courage and hope can grow in the most unexpected places. This is book one of the University of Florevale series — and I’m honored to have illustrated and designed its cover.

Orecchiette with Butternut Squash and Kale

My orecchiette-making obsession continues! It’s so meditative. This month’s favorite is Orecchiette with Roasted Butternut Squash and Kale — even better with a little prosciutto or pancetta mixed in.

Here’s to June: the finish lines, the beginnings, the celebrations,
and the full-circle moments.

To the couples whose wedding details are making their way into the world this month, what a joy it has been to help bring these pieces to life.

To Ethan, whose graduation we get to keep celebrating just a little longer.

To Central Park calligraphy, family parties, bridal showers, concerts with daughters, fall invitations in progress, and the kind of full calendar that reminds you how much there is to be grateful for.

June, I think we are ready for you.
